Where to Stay in Vancouver, BC | Best Areas & Hotel Recommendations

By Matthew G. Bailey 1 Comment

where to stay in vancouver

Are you planning a trip to Vancouver but still aren’t sure where to stay? The city is fairly easy to get around, and not so big that you’ll be spending too much time in transit, but the location is always important.

While there isn’t necessarily a wrong place to stay in the city, there definitely are pros and cons to staying in certain neighbourhoods. If you’re planning on walking rather than driving, you’ll want to be within easy walking distance to attractions and transport. Thankfully, we stayed at Lizard Creek Lodge, which is right next to the chairlifts, offering you the chance to wake up, have a good meal, and ski right from the lodge to the chair. Beckers Chalets Jasper

Situated right next to the Athabasca River, just 10-minutes outside the town of Jasper lies Becker’s Chalets. These chalets are nestled in rocky mountain paradise. Not only does the river flow by but there’s also a massive park complete with a kids playground. Our chalet actually opened out onto the park and every morning we’d see Canadian geese munching on the grass. On one morning, we even saw a herd of Elk munching on the grass. Maybe we should have tried it? Must have been a great breakfast.
