You can choose from a daily a la carte breakfast menu – although we’re more partial to their family-style weekend brunch. The brunch menu features sweet treats, an appetizer tower, and various mains that range from roasted lamb to egg-based dishes.
The place does fill up quickly for brunch, so it’s a good idea to reserve your spot in advance.

Art-Is-In
We sure hope you’ve got a hearty appetite ‘cos Art-Is-In just so happens to be one of the best brunch spots in Ottawa!
Located between Wellington West and the downtown area, this restaurant was even featured on Food Network. Options include their legendary O-Towner cronut which is by far one of the most popular items on their brunch menu. It’s a combination of doughnuts and croissants, stuffed and topped with various types of goodies.
Wash it all down with their rich hot cocoa, which contains at least 64% molten chocolate and you’ve got yourself a winning combo!

Avocado toast and mimosas beckon at Mazarine, a trendy Mediterranean restaurant located in downtown Ottawa.
This place is especially known for its scrumptious Mediterranean-inspired brunch offerings. Think pancakes with sweet cardamom, kofta sandwiches slathered in tahini, and spicy shakshuka.
If you’re not familiar with shakshuka, it’s a divine concoction of eggs poached in a hearty tomato sauce. This place doesn’t do things halfway: even their avocado toast is served with za’atar!
As far as drinks are concerned, Mazarine offers the quintessential mimosas, Caesars, and Happy Goat Coffees, a local favourite.

Not only is this great place a firm favourite among the locals but it’s also packed on the weekends. Their no-frills menu is affordable, simple, and (more importantly) super delicious!
There’s plenty on offer, but my favourites include their brunch tarts, French toast, and potato hash. However, their breakfast nachos are quite popular as well.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a brunch menu without Caesars and mimosas – and rest assured that The Third serves both.

Vegans also have it made since the brunch menu features specialties like curried tofu sauteed with tomatillo salsa and mushrooms. Served alongside toast, salad, and cowboy beans, this is a big hit- even if you’re not vegan!
They’ve also got a ‘Bruncherer’ menu which features a quirky assortment of fresh fruit, fried egg sandwiches, and homemade scones that happen to be truly delish!

The Vanitea Room
Okay, we can’t talk about the best brunch spots in Ottawa without mentioning The Vanitea Room, which is located on Somerset Street!
This super refined place is mainly known for its English-style teas, but we can assure you that it does a great brunch as well. Thick velour chairs, ornate chandeliers, and gold-framed mirrors make for an awesome Insta-worthy setting.
More than the décor though, this place has a delightful tea and brunch menu packed full of offerings like Banana Cream Pies and Blueberry Belles.
The Shrimp Benedict, which consists of fresh, homemade bread, seasoned shrimp, poached egg, and hollandaise sauce looks unreal. Vegans, however, may wish to check out the Pink Vegan Benedict which features roasted mushrooms and pink beets, all served on a vegan loaf.
This place also features a three-course menu for $55 and includes a Mimosa bottle.

With an open kitchen, friendly staff, and (more importantly), super amazing eats, Wilf & Adas is famous for making virtually everything from scratch – and yes, that includes their fresh juices and bacon that’s smoked right onsite.
Most of their ingredients are also sourced from Canadian farmers, including the local maple syrup.
Now, while the place features classic brunch fare like poached eggs and avocados, regular visitors will recommend their Poutine Galvaude, which will have you coming back for more!
If you don’t mind some daylight boozing, head to Flora Hall Brewing next door to wash down your brunch with an ice-cold pint!

Another great place specializing in Mediterranean-inspired brunches, this restaurant is brimming with classic Greek hospitality and warmth. There’s also an exciting cocktail menu with fruity sangria, champagne pops and of course, the ever-present Mimosa!
As far as the food is concerned, one of their top dishes is the poached egg with lamb, but you can also try their signature omelettes, mini breakfast gyros, or their zucchini and feta eggs.

Tucked away in Chinatown is a small, nondescript place that’s quite easy to miss. But as low-key as it is, we can assure you that Jak’s Kitchen sure packs a punch!
For starters, it’s one of the few places in Ottawa that serves all-day breakfast- well, at least until 3 p.m. Next, you’ll find heaps (and we do mean heaps) of comfort food on their brunch menu. With at least five different types of egg plates, the menu also features Banana Bread French Toast and Fried Egg Sandwiches.
You’ll also find classics like a Smoked Salmon Bagel laden with house-smoked salmon, fried eggs, pickled onion, capers, and home fries. All served alongside some salad to keep things healthy, of course!

The King Eddy may be more of a burger place, but we can assure you that it’s a great option for brunch too!
Located by the historic ByWard Market, this is a great place for giving in to your all-day breakfast cravings. Many can’t get enough of their Sour Cream Pancakes topped with plump strawberries and lashings of whipped cream, all favourably washed down with a spiked coffee.
Another popular option on their menu is the Northern Fried Chicken Benny, which comes with plenty of country gravy and their Vegetarian King Portobello Brunch Plate.

Gezzelig
For something more upscale, head over to the Westboro Village where you’ll find Gezellig, which, incidentally, is a Dutch word that signifies ‘cozy spot’.
If you’re looking for something unique, this restaurant is found in a reconverted bank that dates back to the 50s and has a beautiful interior. Expect heaps of natural light and soaring ceilings, all tied together by a moreish menu.
Whether you’re in the mood for Banana Bread French Toast, Gezelling Huevos Rancheros, or plain ol’ mushrooms on Challah bread toast, this place’s got plenty to please those taste buds!
